WIDOW TWANKEY

It’s such a lovely morning oh,

I think I’ll do the washing oh,

Shirts and skirts,

Frocks and socks and petticoats as well,

I feel so neat and nimble oh,

A turning of the wringer oh,

Dashing away with the smoothing iron, dashing away with the

smoothing iron

I’ll pass the day away.

WIDOW TWANKEY

Where is Aladdin my only son,

Never about when there’s work to be done,

I wish he’d get himself a job,

And earn himself an honest bob,

I’ve heard it said, if you get on your bike,

You can get almost any job you like.

COMMOTION OFF STAGE AND IN DASHES ALADDIN ON A SCOOTER.OR PUSHING A TROLLEY, ANYTHING WITH WHEELS.

ALADDIN

Oh mother, please don’t look so sad,

Things can’t really be so bad,

I have got such a lovely treat,

So hurry up then we can eat.

WIDOW TWANKEY

How can we eat, the cupboard’s bare,

We have no food, no homely fare....
