DANCING DUMMIES. These are made from 2 pairs of tights to each dummy. The upper part of the body is made from one pair, to represent the arms and chest. Stuff tights with crumpled paper, very tightly and mould into shape. The second pair of tights make legs and trunks, also stuffed with paper. The waist of the top pair of tights pulled tightly down under the lower pair and secured, this makes the body. The head can be a balloon, beach ball or cloth made into a bag, stuffed tightly then covered with tights material. Features can be painted on or a mask fitted, completed with a wig. The whole thing is then dressed in a long evening dress, with gloves on the ‘hands’ . The dummy is approximately life sized.

IMPORTANT. A PAIR OF WELLINGTON BOOTS TO BE PLACED WHERE THE PRINCE CAN PICK THEM UP INSTEAD OF CINDERELLA’S SLIPPER.

A PAIR OF DANCE SHOES ON CUSHION FOR PAGE TO BRING IN.

These notes are only a guide, as costumes are usually made from materials available.

The scene with the dancing dummies may be omitted and a song put in to take it’s place, providing it gives enough time for the costume changes.
